Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 May 2026

Please read these terms before using Iqrayah (“the Service”). By accessing the Service you agree to be bound by them.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Iqrayah. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Iqrayah is a free, minimalist website providing a single Qur’an verse each day with transliteration and English translations. It is provided as-is, without warranty.

3. Permitted use

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial, lawful purposes.

You must NOT:

  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest the site in an automated fashion without written consent.
  • Use the site to distribute spam, malware, or harmful content.
  • Reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of the Qur’an translations in a separate product without verifying the underlying license (see our Attributions page).
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

4. Intellectual property

4.1 Our content

The Iqrayah brand, logo, original UI design, code, and curated content (curation notes, themes, verse selection) are © Iqrayah and all rights are reserved unless stated otherwise.

4.2 Qur’an text & translations

Arabic Qur’an text is in the public domain. English translations used are either in the public domain or used under their respective open licenses — see our Attributions page for full details.

4.3 Typography

Arabic typefaces are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. See Attributions.

5. User-generated content

The Service does not currently accept user-generated content. If this changes, additional terms will apply.

6. Newsletter

By subscribing to the newsletter you consent to receive daily verse emails. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Continued subscription does not create any contractual right to continued delivery.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES.
