Surah Aal ʿImran · Ayah 79

“It is not (possible) for any human being unto whom Allah had given the Scripture and wisdom and the prophethood that he should afterwards have said unto mankind: Be slaves of me instead of Allah; but (what he said was): Be ye faithful servants of the Lord by virtue of your constant teaching of the Scripture and of your constant study thereof.”

“It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah's": on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly."”

“It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."”

“কোন মানুষকে আল্লাহ কিতাব, হেকমত ও নবুওয়ত দান করার পর সে বলবে যে, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহকে পরিহার করে আমার বান্দা হয়ে যাও’-এটা সম্ভব নয়। বরং তারা বলবে, ‘তোমরা আল্লাহওয়ালা হয়ে যাও, যেমন, তোমরা কিতাব শিখাতে এবং যেমন তোমরা নিজেরা ও পড়তে।”

“کسی آدمی کو شایاں نہیں کہ خدا تو اسے کتاب اور حکومت اور نبوت عطا فرمائے اور وہ لوگوں سے کہے کہ خدا کو چھوڑ کر میرے بندے ہو جاؤ بلکہ (اس کو یہ کہنا سزاوار ہے کہ اے اہلِ کتاب) تم (علمائے) ربانی ہو جاؤ کیونکہ تم کتابِ (خدا) پڑھتے پڑھاتے رہتے ہو”
