Surah Fatir · Ayah 42

“And they swore by Allah, their most binding oath, that if a warner came unto them they would be more tractable than any of the nations; yet, when a warner came unto them it aroused in them naught save repugnance,”

“They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),-”

“And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion.”

“তারা জোর শপথ করে বলত, তাদের কাছে কোন সতর্ককারী আগমন করলে তারা অন্য যে কোন সম্প্রদায় অপেক্ষা অধিকতর সৎপথে চলবে। অতঃপর যখন তাদের কাছে সতর্ককারী আগমন করল, তখন তাদের ঘৃণাই কেবল বেড়ে গেল।”

“اور یہ خدا کی سخت سخت قسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ اگر ان کے پاس کوئی ہدایت کرنے والا آئے تو ہر ایک اُمت سے بڑھ کر ہدایت پر ہوں۔ مگر جب ان کے پاس ہدایت کرنے والا آیا تو اس سے ان کو نفرت ہی بڑھی”
