Surah Ibrahim · Ayah 44

“And warn mankind of a day when the doom will come upon them, and those who did wrong will say: Our Lord! Reprieve us for a little while. We will obey Thy call and will follow the messengers. (It will be answered): Did ye not swear before that there would be no end for you?”

“So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline?”

“And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?”

“মানুষকে ঐ দিনের ভয় প্রদর্শন করুন, যেদিন তাদের কাছে আযাব আসবে। তখন জালেমরা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদেরকে সামান্য মেয়াদ পর্যন্ত সময় দিন, যাতে আমরা আপনার আহবানে সাড়া দিতে এবং পয়গম্বরগণের অনুসরণ করতে পারি। তোমরা কি ইতোপূর্বে কসম খেতে না যে, তোমাদেরকে দুনিয়া থেকে যেতে হবে না?”

“اور لوگوں کو اس دن سے آگاہ کردو جب ان پر عذاب آجائے گا تب ظالم لوگ کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہمیں تھوڑی سی مدت مہلت عطا کر۔ تاکہ تیری دعوت (توحید) قبول کریں اور (تیرے) پیغمبروں کے پیچھے چلیں (تو جواب ملے گا) کیا تم پہلے قسمیں نہیں کھایا کرتے تھے کہ تم کو (اس حال سے جس میں تم ہو) زوال (اور قیامت کو حساب اعمال) نہیں ہوگا”
