Surah Al-Araf · Ayah 4

Wa kam min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa fajaaa'ahaa baasunaa bayaatan aw hum qaaa'iloon

“How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them.”

“How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest.”

“And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.”

“আর তোমরা অল্পই উপদেশ গ্রহণ কর। অনেক জনপদকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি। তাদের কাছে আমার আযাব রাত্রি বেলায় পৌছেছে অথবা দ্বিপ্রহরে বিশ্রামরত অবস্থায়।”

“اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں کہ ہم نے تباہ کر ڈالیں جن پر ہمارا عذاب (یا تو رات کو) آتا تھا جبکہ وہ سوتے تھے یا (دن کو) جب وہ قیلولہ (یعنی دوپہر کو آرام) کرتے تھے”
